Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement falls on the 10th day of the Jewish month of Tishrei. Yom Kippur is the holiest and most solemn day of the Jewish year. The day begins with evening service and Kol Nidre prayer Tuesday, October 8 at 19:30 pm. The service will begin exactly, so it is recommended to be in place in the synagogue before then.
The Yom Kippur services will be led by Rabbi Tirzah Ben-David. The times of services Saturday, October 9 is approximately times.
Shacharit and Musaf service : 10 am.
Shiur (study group) : 3 pm.
Mincha service : 4:30 pm.
Yizkor and Neilah service : 6 pm.
If you have names that you wish to have read out during the Yizkor service, the name/s must be given to Rabbi Tirzah Ben-David on a piece of paper no later than before the Yizkor service begins.
After the Neilah service we break the fast with something to drink, fruit and something sweet.
After the fast of Yom Kippur and the many services we will end the day with an invigorating vegetarian meal in the basement.
